Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

Prepare sushi rice by cooking it to perfection, then season it with a blend of rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let it cool before using  it! Cut salmon, avocado, cream cheese, and cucumber into thin strips, and prepare any optional toppings like sesame seeds or spicy mayo for added flavor.

Step 2: Set Up Your Rolling Station

Place a bamboo sushi mat wrapped in plastic on a smooth, flat surface to get started. Place the shiny side of the nori sheet facing down and keep a bowl of water nearby to dampen your fingers as needed.

Step 3: Spread the Rice

Evenly spread a layer of sushi rice across the nori, leaving a small border at the top to help seal the roll.

Step 4: Add Fillings and Roll

Place salmon, avocado, cream cheese, and cucumber in a neat line along the center. Roll it up tightly using a bamboo mat, and dab a little water along the edge to seal it securely.

Step 5: Slice and Serve

Slice the roll into equal pieces with a sharp knife dipped in water. Pair it with soy sauce, wasabi, or your favorite sushi toppings, and dig in!
